Welcome! Tammy's Palette is a place where you can find Tammy's unique hand painted ornaments, canvas, wood items, jewelry, glassware and many other finds. About Tammy: I have been painting most of my life, starting in grade school. I continued my interest in painting through 4 years of high school art classes and then found community classes to take after I graduated. Education continued through purchasing lesson books and more classes, and then I went back to school for Graphic Design Communications, which is my professional background. I was encouraged to start selling my work at age 21, which turned out successful, and continue currently at art/craft shows and stores. My painted ornaments, of both glass and wood, have been my most popular items through the years, and people search me out to find them. This gives me great JOY! More JOY than you know.
Teaching adults and kids began in 1995 at Michael's store and moved over to Hobby Lobby in 2003. Oil painting was my love in the early years, and I started teaching that medium. Later I taught acrylics and fabric painting. I now teach primarily acrylics. I also teach kids in a local 4H Club. Their paintings are then judged and displayed at the county fair.
I currently live with my family in the village of Mount Pleasant, WI between the town of Franksville and the city of Racine, which is along beautiful Lake Michigan. I give thanks to Jesus for his guidance and gifts in my life. I also thank my wonderful parents for encouraging me throughout my life and miss them very much. Painting has truly been a therapeutic and rewarding experience in my life.
Photo above is from a past city art event and contest - Lighten Up, featuring lighthouses. I am pleased to say my lighthouse was one of the highest bidding items that year at the auction, with money helping the city of Racine.
